St. Peter’s Church of England Primary School provides an exceptional education to all children aged 2 – 11 years. Starting in Flourish, our Early Education Setting, learners then move seamlessly through to our thriving one-form entry primary school to continue their inspirational learning adventures. Predominantly serving children from our local village and surrounding areas, we welcome pupils from both near and far as we work hard to ensure that every child feels loved and welcome and receives the support they need to achieve more than they dreamed possible at every point in their learning journey. . Peter’s Primary School enjoys a strong relationship with our local Church and benefits from regular visitors to school from our faith community. Through these links, our children experience all that Christianity has to offer them and develop a deep understanding of the lessons which Jesus teaches us and the Christian values we all aspire to live by. Our children love being involved in our daily acts of collective worship, they engage in quiet times to reflect, share their thoughts through prayer and discover how they can demonstrate our faith and values through their actions every day.
St. Peter’s also benefits greatly from an active Parents, Teachers and Friends Association (PTFA) and this is a great way for new parents to make connections within the community and make a real difference to the lives of our children. Over the years, the PTFA have been essential in raising much-needed funds to support us in our endeavours and have provided children with additional computing equipment, outdoor adventure trails and even an outdoor classroom.
Together with two other local primary schools, St. Peter’s forms part of the Mid-Trent Multi Academy Trust. Being part of the Mid-Trent MAT offers our school the opportunity to work collaboratively with others and opens doors to a wealth of new experiences for our learners and our staff. Together we organise sports competitions, art festivals and local projects which expand our learners’ horizons; and also work collaboratively to explore and re-define best-practice in pedagogy and curriculum. As a MAT we understand that we are all part of a genuine learning community, and we work together to secure the very best outcomes for all our learners.
